Sling Tow Truck
Also known as “hook and chain” trucks, sling tow trucks usually are the most recognizable type of towing trucks to the average driver. However, they’re much less common on the road today because sling tow trucks have been known to often cause severe damage to bumpers. Sling tow trucks are most helpful when cars from accidents or cars that need to be towed have missing front wheels.
Need a Tow Truck?
Wheel-Lift Tow Truck
This tow truck uses a metal yoke to cradle the front or rear wheels of the vehicle. These are used in similar situations as sling tow trucks, but wheel lift tow trucks are favored over sling tow trucks because this type of truck is less prone to cause damage to vehicles that are being towed
Flatbed Tow Truck
The flatbed tow truck also often called a rollback tow truck uses a hydraulic lift to give the truck bed an incline. The flatbed is then lowered to the ground and the vehicle is driven or dragged onto the back. This is often used in emergency towing situations, motorcycle towing, exotic towing, and towing of large vehicles.
